25th December 2009 Skiing: La Rosiere Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: White out :( Max Speed: Distance Covered: Yesterday was a no ski day because of low cloud and strong winds but it was a good day with two walks to La Rosiere seeing our first red squirrel :) we baked a great cake and had our Christmas dinner,played monopoly and watched The Office Christmas Special – so a good day despite the weather and no skiing !!! We thought that our run of bad weather must end on Christmas Day – sadly we were wrong :( Up early as it had snowed in the night and the low cloud seemed to be lifting !!! So we bought four all day passes for the first time this week to make the most of the power !!! but our luck was out as the lower lift Petit Bois was shut :( and we only got one run in before we had white out !!! making skiing a nightmare :( we had one run where you could’nt see your hand in front of your face so we returned to the apartment for lunch and an American Office fest !!!! At 3.30 it seemed to be clearing so we decided to give it another go,sadly the conditions were just as crap !!! so after a couple of runs skiing blind we gave up :( thats the worst 140 euros we have ever spent !!! So another Christmas dinner :) more A/office (is 20 episodes in a day a record ? ) secret santa and a game of pass the pigs !!! Our last day on the slopes tomorrow after we have packed up and dug our van out of the snow,so fingers crossed for some sunshine !!!! |
